Needleless drug delivery represents the next evolution in modern medicine — a safe, efficient and patient-friendly alternative to traditional injections. These technologies deliver medication through jet injectors, transdermal systems, inhalation and microneedle patches, eliminating conventional needles while still providing rapid, precise delivery. They reduce risks associated with needle use — infections, needle-stick injuries and improper disposal — and improve patient compliance, particularly among populations with needle aversion.
Why it matters for Nigeria
With an estimated 80,000 people who inject drugs (PWID) in Nigeria, needleless systems present an opportunity to reduce needle-related harm and disease transmission, support harm-reduction strategies, and improve public-health safety through reduced needle circulation. Needleless insulin delivery can improve adherence for patients requiring daily treatment; needleless vaccine delivery can enhance immunisation coverage by simplifying administration and improving safety during mass campaigns.
Alignment with national health programmes
Champions Pharmaceuticals proposes to support Nigeria’s healthcare modernisation by aligning with initiatives led by the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) — including national immunisation programmes, vaccine-preventable disease control and expanding access to primary healthcare.

- Deliver cost-effective, scalable solutions that make needleless therapies accessible to facilities nationwide.
